Tyler Maynard will return to the role of Mark in the Off-Broadway hit Altar Boyz on January 9, taking over from Danny Calvert, who joined the cast earlier this year.

A spoof of a fictitious Christian boy band, Altar Boyz won the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical. The show was written by Gary Adler, Michael Patrick Walker, and Kevin Del Aguila, choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, and directed by Stafford Arima. Maynard will share the stage with Scott Porter (Matthew), James Royce Edwards (Luke), Dennis Moench (Abraham), and Nick Sanchez (Juan).

Maynard created the role of Mark, receiving Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominations as Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance. During his absence from the show, he co-starred in the Vineyard Theater production of Miracle Brothers.
