Multiple Tony Award-winner Tommy Tune will be the headliner when the UJA-Federation of New York honors Gerald Schoenfeld, chairman of the Shubert Organization, at its annual Bernard B. Jacobs Award Dinner on Monday, November 18, at the Pierre Hotel.

Also on the bill are writer-actress Claudia Shear (Dirty Blonde), actress-singer Melissa Errico (most recently seen on Broadway as a star of Amour), and director-choreographer Joey McNeeley (whose past credits include Smokey Joe’s Café and The Life and whose major future project is the Peter Allen bio-musical The Boy From Oz, set to open on Broadway in the fall of 2003 with Hugh Jackman as star). Tune, Shear, Errico, and McNeeley will offer a song and dance tribute to Schoenfeld, and other Broadway figures are expected to make surprise appearances as part of the celebration.

Betty Jacobs (widow of the award’s namesake, Bernard B. Jacobs) and James M. Nederlander (chairman of The Nederlander Organization) will present the award to Schoenfeld. The evening’s keynote speaker will be playwright Peter Shaffer (Amadeus, Equus, etc.)

Tickets for the black-tie dinner, which will begin at 8:45 pm on the 18th, are available to the public at $600 per person. For reservations and/or additional information, contact Anne T. Rose by phone at 212-836-1110 or via e-mail to rosea@ujafedny.org. The Pierre Hotel is located at Fifth Avenue and 61st Street in Manhattan.
