Tony Award nominees Jeremy Shamos (Clybourne Park) and Maria Dizzia (Belleville), along with Darren Pettie (Detroit) and Marin Hinkle (Luce), will star in Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming off-Broadway revival of Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Dinner With Friends. Tony winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) directs the production, which begins performances January 10 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre, with an opening night scheduled for February 4.
Dinner With Friends explores what happens when the friendship of two couples, Karen and Gabe (played by Hinkle and Shamos) and Beth and Tom (Dizzia and Pettie), begins to veer in opposing directions after the announcement of an imminent divorce. The play won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize, along with Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle, Dramatists Guild/Hull-Warriner, and American Theatre Critics Association New Play awards.
Featured on the creative team are Allen Moyer (scenic design), Ilona Somogyi (costume design), Jane Cox (lighting design), and Joshua Schmidt (original music and compositions).
