Tony Award Administration Makes Eligibility Rulings for First Date, Soul Doctor, and Romeo and Juliet

And the Tony cycle begins again…

By New York City

The Tony Award administration gathered today for the first of five eligibility meetings to take place throughout the 2013-14 Broadway season. The committee deliberated on the Tony eligibility of the casts of First Date, Soul Doctor, and Romeo and Juliet.

The committee determined that Eric Anderson of Soul Doctor will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical category. All other eligibility determinations were consistent with the productions' opening-night credits.

The 2014 Tony Awards ceremony is presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing and will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 8, 2014.
