Theater director/filmmaker Nicholas Colia has tapped into an obscure hotbed of cultural debate with his new short play, The YouTube Comments Section for Lucille Ball Receiving Her Kennedy Center Honors. Nearly three decades after the iconic comedienne accepted her coveted Lifetime Achievement Award in 1986, the YouTube video documenting the monumental moment in her career became a hub for impassioned comments on a range of topics from feminism to the psychic abilities of mimes. Colia brings these comments to life at Dixon Place for a one-night-only performance on Tuesday, October 22, at 7:30pm.

Produced by Ali Skye Bennet, in-house producer and company manager for off-Broadway's award-winning Transport Group Theatre Company, the show includes an ensemble of New York actors including Jamie Agnello, Maria Paz Alegre, Brett Aresco, Cohlie Brocato, Luis Christian Dilorenzi, Rachel Greenhoe, Rowan Magee, Ivica Marc, Michelangelo Milano, Rory Pelsue, Justin Perkins, Andrew Rincon, Analisa Velez, Charlotte Wolf, Stephanie Willing, and Kara Young. The production also features projection designs by Adrian Jeviki.
