Cheryl Alexander, Jeremy Gumbs, Joshua Henry, John Jellison, Anastacia McClesky and Kenneth Robinson will appear in A Good Man, to be offered by The Amas Musical Theatre Lab at The Snapple Theatre, November 3 at 4pm and November 4 at 1pm and 4pm. Jerry Dixon will direct the performances, which will have musical direction by Jason Michael Webb.

With music by Ray Leslee, and book and lyrics by Philip S. Goodman, the show, set in rural Mississippi just after World War II, centers on a poor sharecropper, who unlike his neighbors who have been leaving and going north in droves, has decided to stay put. When he finds out that his wife is pregnant, he decides to fulfill a dream — to fix up and put fresh white paint on his shabby little tenant house, a decision that has unexpected repercussions.

The Amas Musical Theatre Lab is a free development series for writers, lyricists and composers to mount staged readings of their new musicals.
