Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that Lynn Redgrave, whose solo performance Nightingale will begin previews at City Center on October 15, has been diagnosed with a medical condition that requires treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

A statement released by MTC reads in part that "Side effects of the treatment necessitate that Ms. Redgrave rely on her script for the entire run of the play at MTC." The show's producers -- which also include Jeffrey Richards/Jerry Frankel & Dennis Grimaldi -- have additionally stated that "We are proud that Lynn will grace the stage at City Center with her new play, and (in true Redgrave tradition) we applaud her eagerness to see that the show goes on."
