Bob Saget to Join Broadway’s Drowsy Chaperone on October 19

Bob Saget will take over the role of Man in Chair in the award-winning Broadway musical The Drowsy Chaperone beginning on October 19 for a four-month engagement. He replaces Jonathan Crombie, who will play Man in Chair for the show’s national tour.

Saget previously appeared on the New York stage in the Off-Broadway production of Paul Weitz’s Privilege. He is best known for his television work, including hosting the NBC game show 1 Vs. 100, hosting ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos, and starring on the long-running sitcom Full House.

The Drowsy Chaperone won five 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Book (Bob Martin and Don McKellar) and Best Score of a Musical (Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison), and seven Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical. Directed by Casey Nicholaw, the show also stars Mari Davi, Jo Anne Worley, Danny Burstein, Peter Bartlett, and Beth Leavel.
