A benefit concert presentation of the William Finn-James Lapine musical Falsettoland on Monday, November 6 at New World Stages will feature Jill Abramovitz as Cordelia, Zachary Allen as Jason, Keith Gerchak as Mendel, Colin Hanlon as Whizzer, Lisa Howard as Trina, Michael Hunsaker as Marvin, and Leisa Mather as Charlotte.

The event will benefit Miracle House, an AIDS services organization that provides housing, meals, and advocacy to caregivers and patients who come to New York City for critical medical treatment. John Znidarsic will direct the performance, and Rick Hip-Flores and Joshua Salzman will serve as musical directors.

Falsettoland, set in the early 1980s at the height of the AIDS crisis, is the third installment in Finn’s series of chamber musicals chronicling the life and loves of a character named Marvin. The original Off-Broadway production won several honors, including the Lucille Lortel Award for Oustanding Musical. In 1992, the one-act musical was combined with the previous entry in the series, March of the Falsettos, and presented on Broadway under the umbrella title Falsettos.

Abramovitz is in a member of the cast of Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me. Allen has appeared in A Christmas Carol. Gerchak was recently seen in the musical Windy City at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. Hanlon’s credits include the Broadway production of Rent and the Off-Broadway musical I Love You Because. Howard currently stars on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Hunsaker was seen in the recent NYMTF production of The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun and will appear later this month in John Epperson’s My Deah at the Abingdon Theatre. Mather’s credits include Forbidden Broadway.

General admission and VIP single tickets are $50-$100. For more information and details on sponsorship packages, visit www.miraclehouse.org or phone 212-989-7790.
