Sutton Foster, Beth Leavel, Anthony Rapp, John Tartaglia, and the cast of [title of show] will perform at the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s (NYMF) 2006 Awards Gala, to be held at 6pm on Sunday, November 12 at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Bob Martin, the Tony Award-winning star and co-author of The Drowsy Chaperone, will host the event.

At the benefit, the NYMF 2006 Awards for Excellence will be announced, with awards to be given in nine categories, including Most Promising New Work, Outstanding Ensemble Performance, and Outstanding Individual Performance. All 33 full productions from this year’s festival, as well as the workshop production of Alive in the World, are eligible for these awards. The winners will be chosen by a jury of theater artists, producers, and journalists, including TheaterMania’s Peter Filichia. In addition, there will be an audience prize for favorite show, sponsored by Verizon Wireless.

The benefit will also honor producer Kevin McCollum, whose shows include The Drowsy Chaperone, Rent, Avenue Q, [title of show], and High Fidelity.

Individual tickets to the gala are $300; tables are available for $3,000 and $5,000 (VIP).
