Performed in Italian with English subtitles, the piece uses text by Frank Pugliese and dramaturgy by Giovanni Papoto to tell the Pirandello stories that were featured in the Taviani Brothers' 1984 film Kaos. The setting is in turn-of-the-century Sicily. Clarke received a $100,000 grant from the Tony Randall Theatrical Fund to help put on this production.
Featured in the cast are Felix Blaska, Sophie Bortolussi, George de la Pena, Daria Deflorian, Vito Di Bella, Lorenzo Iacona, Jim Iorio, Gabrielle Malone, Matthew Mohr, Rocco Sisto, Christina Spina, Rebecca Wender, Robert Wersinger, and Julia Wilkins, as well as musicians Irving Grossman, John T. La Barbera, and Richard Sosinsky.
The creative team includes Scott Pask (scenic design), Donna Zakowska (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), Tal Yarden (projections), and Jill Jaffe (music direction). Clarke's previous works include Vienna: Lusthaus, Belle Epoque, and The Garden of Earthly Delights.
