A special benefit screening of the film version of Jonathan Larson’s Broadway smash Rent will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, November 22 at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway). All proceeds from the screening and a silent auction will go to the non-profit organization Friends In Deed, a crisis center that provides emotional support for those suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

Co-produced by Revolution Studios and Columbia Pictures, Rent will go into general release on November 23. The movie is directed by Chris Columbus and stars original Broadway cast members Taye Diggs, Jesse L. Martin, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, and Wilson Jermaine Heredia, along with Rosario Dawson and Tracie Thoms. Rapp, Wilson, and Thoms will be on hand for a Q&A session immediately following the November 22 screening at Symphony Space.

Tickets to the event range in price from $50 to $150, with $20 rush tickets available by daily lottery. For more information and/or to purchase tickets, call 212-864-5400 or visit www.symphonyspace.org.
