Klea Blackhurst Replaces Ann Crumb in Bingo

Klea Blackurst has replaced Ann Crumb in the cast of the new musical Bingo. No reason was given for the change.

The show is now in previews at St. Luke’s Theatre and is slated to open officially on Monday, November 7. Debra Cardona will play the roles of Bernice and Marilyn until Blackhurst steps in on Monday, October 31.

Bingo is an environmental musical comedy that allows the audience to join in a church Bingo game and actually win cash and prizes. Written by Michael Heitzman, Ilene Reid, and David Holchenber, the show is directed by Thomas Caruso. Also in the cast are Chevi Colton, Liz Larsen, Beth Malone, Janet Metz, Liz McCartney, and Patrick Ryan Sullivan.

Blackurst, an award-winning cabaret performer and recording artist, is best known for her shows Everything the Traffic Will Allow (a salute to Ethel Merman) and Autumn in New York: Vernon Duke’s Broadway. She has also appeared Off-Broadway in By Jupiter, Radio Gals, and Oil City Symphony.
