Tony Award-winning actress Phyllis Newman performed the song, “What’s New At The Zoo?” from the Betty Comden/Adolph Green musical, Do Re Mi, with students from New York City’s P.S. 212.

The lyrics are featured in the newly published children’s book from Blue Apple Books, also titled What’s New At The Zoo?, that is illustrated by Travis Foster and features an introduction by Newman.

Both song and book tell the tale of an overcrowded zoo and the amazingly witty animals who want OUT! A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the
Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative.

Newman, who was married to Green, won a 1962 Tony Award for Subways Are for Sleeping, and also received a special 2009 Tony.
