Stephen R. Buntrock to Play Fredrik Egerman in Broadway’s A Little Night Music Starting September 28

Stephen R. Buntrock will assume the role of Fredrik Egerman in Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s A Little Night Music on September 28. He will be succeeding Alexander Hanson, who originated the role in this production, who will play his final performance on September 26.

Directed by Trevor Nunn, the production has choreography by Lynne Page, scenic and costume design by David Farley, lighting design by Hartley T A Kemp, and sound design by Dan Moses Schreier and Gareth Owen. Jason Carr has provided orchestrations and and Rob Bowman serves as musical director.

The production features Bernadette Peters (Desirée Armfeldt), Elaine Stritch (Madame Armfeldt), Bradley Dean (Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm), Erin Davie (Countess Charlotte Malcolm), Leigh Ann Larkin (Petra), Hunter Ryan Herdlicka (Henrik Egerman) and Ramona Mallory (Anne Egerman). The cast also includes Ron Bohmer, Ben Davis, Jessica Grové, Gina Lamparella, Katherine McNamara, Jayne Paterson, Kevin David Thomas, Keaton Whittaker, Karen Murphy, Erin Stewart, and Kevin Vortmann.

Buntrock has been part of the show’s ensemble and has understudied Hanson. His many other Broadway credits include Oklahoma!, Beauty and the Beast, Jane Eyre, Titanic, and Les Miserables. He recently appeared alongside Dame Julie Andrews in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
