New York Times theater critic Ben Brantley, actress Ellen Burstyn, dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade, and cultural organization Arts Horizons will be honored at the Theatre Museum’s Awards for Excellence, to be held on Monday, October 29 at the National Arts Club. The event will be hosted by Tony Award winner Jim Dale, and Tony winner James Naughton and Emmy Award winner Pia Lindstrom will be among the evening’s presenters.

Brantley will receive the group’s award for Theatre History Preservation; Burstyn, a Tony Award winner and Academy Award winner, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award; De Lavallade will receive the group’s award for Individual Achievement for her teaching work at Yale University and Adelphi University, among other institutions; and Arts Horizons, which has assisted students through artists-in-residence programs and after-school programs for nearly 30 years, will receive the award for Excellence as an Organization.

Tickets to the awards, which include cocktails, a buffet dinner, and staged performances by Broadway artists, are $225 each. Funds raised from the event will help support the Museum’s exhibitions and programs. For more information, visit www.ttmnyc.org.
