Copeland, Jackson, Seldes, Wallach, et al. to Celebrate Arthur Miller’s 90th Birthday

Bob Balaban, Joan Copeland, Bob Dishy, Anne Jackson, Laila Robins, Marian Seldes, and Eli Wallach will participate in The Writings of Arthur Miller: A 90th Birthday Celebration on Monday, October 17 at 12:30pm. The event, which is part of the Food for Thought series, will take place at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South).

In addition to readings from the late playwright’s works, Copeland will share stories about her brother and read a letter that Miller sent to the House Un-American Activities Committee. Wallach will introduce a short film written by Miller and shot at his home in
Connecticut.

Miller was born on October 17, 1915 and died on February 20, 2005. He wrote nearly a dozen Broadway plays, three of which, All My Sons, Death of a Salesman, and The Crucible, won the Tony Award for Best Play. Miller was also given a special Lifetime Achievement Tony in 1999. He also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Death of a Salesman.
