Murphy, Cerveris, and Mazzie Will Star in Passion Concert to Benefit Friends in Deed

Donna Murphy, Michael Cerveris, and Marin Mazzie will star in a 10th anniversary concert presentation of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical Passion on Wednesday, October 20 at 7pm at The Ambassador Theatre (219 West 49th Street). The event will benefit Friends in Deed, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for those living with AIDS and other life threatening illnesses.

Set in 19th century Italy, Passion concerns a handsome army captain who is separated from his beautiful but married mistress. When he faces the unwanted advances of Fosca, his colonel’s plain, sickly cousin, he must re-evaluate his beliefs about love. Passion originally opened on Broadway in 1994 at the Plymouth Theatre; that production received Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical (James Lapine), Best Original Score (Stephen Sondheim), and Best Actress (Donna Murphy).

The October 20 concert will begin at 7pm. Tickets range in price from $150 to $500 and may be purchased by clicking here or by calling 212-239-6200 or 800-432-7250. To purchase $750 VIP Tickets, which include admission to the cast party, call 800-996-5433 or click here.
