Mary J. Blige, Glenn Close, Madonna Nominated for World Soundtrack Awards

Nominations have been announced for the 2012 World Soundtrack Awards, which will be presented at the closing night of the Ghent International Film Festival on Saturday, October 20.

In the 'Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film' category, actress Glenn Close contributed lyrics to the song "Lay Your Head Down" from Albert Nobbs. Madonna co-wrote the music and lyrics for "Masterpiece" from W.E. and also performs the song. Mary J. Blige performs "The Living Proof" from The Help, which she also co-wrote. That category is rounded out by "Man or Muppet" from The Muppets and "Breath of Life" from Snow White and the Huntsman.

Awards are also presented in the categories 'Film Composer of the Year' and 'Best Original Score of the Year.'
