P.S. 122 Announces Fall/Winter Programming

P.S. 122 has announced the works that will comprise its fall/winter season, which as previously announced, will be offered at venues throughout the city as the organization’s East Village home undergoes a massive renovation.

In September, P.S. 122 will offer a series of performances by Brazilian artist Michel Groisman at The Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn. Running September 21-25, the engagement will feature several pieces for both adults and children, including Porta das Mãos (Door of Hands), in which Groisman explores possibilities of movement and shape, and Sirva-se (Serve Yourself), which is a group experience meant to the process of communication. Groisman’s engagement will also include performances of Transferência (Transference) and Polvo (Octopus).

P.S. 122 will also present The Rehearsal, to run October 12-15 at The Performing Garage in Manhattan. This company-created work, directed by Cuqui Jerez, uses the process of rehearsal to create a piece that questions the audience’s reality and will feature Maria Jerez, Cristina Blanco, Cuqui Jerez, Amaia Urra and Gilles Gentner.

The organization will also offer its 7th annual midwinter COIL festival from January 4-15. Among pieces slated for the event are Young Jean Lee’s Theatre Company’s Untitled Feminist Multimedia Technology Show, the TEAM’s Mission Drift, Every House Has a Door’s Let us think of these things always. Let us speak of them never., Temporary Distortion’s Newyorkland, Rabih Mroué’s Looking for a Missing Employee, and Mariano Pensotti’s El Pasado Es un Animal Grotesco.
