Marvin Hamlisch To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Ghent Film Festival

The Ghent Film Festival will honor three-time Oscar winner Marvin Hamlisch with the World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award, according to a report in Variety. The award will be presented in Ghent, Belgium on October 17.

Hamlisch, who wrote the music for A Chorus Line and is writing the music for the forthcoming The Nutty Professor, scored movies such as The Way We Were and The Sting. At the tribute on the 17th, part of the festival’s World Soundtrack Awards, a medley of his film music will be performed by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra.
