Ari Graynor will join previously announced stars Julie White, Tom Everett Scott, and Johnny Galecki in the Broadway production of Douglas Carter Beane’s comedy The Little Dog Laughed, which is scheduled to begin preview performances at the Cort Theatre on October 26 and to open officially on November 13. She will play the role of Ellen, which was played by Zoe Lister-Jones during the show’s Off-Broadway run at Second Stage earlier this year.

As at Second Stage, the creative team for the Broadway production is headed by Scott Ellis (director), Allan Moyer (set design), Jeff Mahshie (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), and Lewis Flinn (sound). The Little Dog Laughed concerns a movie star (Scott) who falls in love with a young hustler (Galecki) and wants to come out of the closet, much to the horror of his ruthless agent (White).

Graynor has been seen on Broadway in Brooklyn Boy, for which she received the Clarence Derwent Award, and Off-Broadway in Dog Sees God. White’s stage credits include Bad Dates, Dinner With Friends, and The Heidi Chronicles; she is currently featured on the ABC series Desperate Housewives. Galecki, best known for his role of David on the sitcom Roseanne, has appeared in stage production of The Drawer Boy and The Member of the Wedding. Scott has been seen Off-Broadway in Touch and in Beane’s play The Country Club (opposite Cynthia Nixon); he is a star of the TNT series Saved, and he and White both appeared on the ABC sitcom Grace Under Fire.
