Wicked Cast to Appear in Gilda’s Club Benefit on August 14

Radio personality Valerie Smaldone will host One Wicked August Night, a benefit for Gilda’s Club NYC (195 West Houston Street) featuring cast members from the smash Broadway show Wicked, at 5:30pm on Sunday, August 14.

The event will begin with a special marketplace where food, accessories, and official Wicked merchandise will be for sale. Scheduled to participate in the ensuing show, which will start at 7:30pm, are ensemble members Marty Thomas, Jennifer Waldman, Saycon Sengbloh, Jerad Bortz, and Anthony Galde. They will perform songs from Wicked, then will be interviewed by Smaldone and will take questions from the audience. The evening will also include a live auction of Wicked items, hosted by Thomas.

Smaldone, in addition to her work on radio, recently co-wrote and performed in Spit It Out, a musical that made its debut at the Midtown Internatonal Theatre Festival.

Gilda’s Club, named after the late comedian Gilda Radner, is an organization that provides support to people who have cancer. Tickets to One Wicked August Night are priced at $25; to order, call 212-647-9700.
