Paper Mill Playhouse Appoints Diane Claussen as Managing Director

Michael Gennaro, president and CEO of the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, has announced the appointment of Diane Claussen to the newly created position of managing director of the theater.

Since 1998, Claussen has served as the executive director of Chicago’s Court Theatre. An arts administrator with more than 20 years experience in the not-for-profit arena, she returns to New Jersey, where she was the managing director of the George Street Playhouse from 1991 to 1997. Claussen will relocate to New Jersey from Chicago and will assume her duties as Paper Mill’s managing director on a full-time basis in late October.

Said Gennaro, “I am truly excited to have Diane join Paper Mill…and to become part of our talented and dedicated staff of theater professionals. She brings a wealth of experience from several organizations and a full knowledge of the theater community in New Jersey which will allow her to make an immediate impact on business operations. I am proud to bring her on board since I originally hired her at the George Street Playhouse and recommended her for the job at Court Theatre. She has clearly proven to be an exceptional theatre manager.”

The Paper Mill Playhouse is a 65-year-old, not-for-profit arts organization supported in part by grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
