Two-time Tony-nominated stage and screen favorite Christopher Walken has been cast as Captain Hook in NBC's upcoming Peter Pan Live! The broadcast, which follows the success of last year's The Sound of Music Live!, will air on December 4.

Walken worked with Peter Pan Live! producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan on the 2007 film version of the musical Hairspray. Walken is well known for his film and TV work, which includes this year's Jersey Boys film as well as roles in Seven Psychopaths and 30 Rock.

Walken's Broadway career has included Tony nominations for his roles in James Joyce's The Dead and A Behanding in Spokane.

"I started my career in musicals," said Walken in a statement, "and it's wonderful after all this time, at this point in my career, to be in this classic musical I watched as a child and to work with Neil Meron and Craig Zadan again after Hairspray. It's a chance to put on my tap shoes again."

It looks like that's one down for Laura Benanti.
