Ken Page Set for October 17 Broadway by the Bay Benefit Concert

Broadway by the Bay and the Broadway by the Bay League will present An Evening with Ken Page, to be held at Hotel Sofitel San Francisco Bay, on Sunday, October 17.

Proceeds from This gala benefit concert will support Broadway By the Bay and its education initiatives. The evening will also honor Ingrid and Dick Sponholz for their years of support for Broadway By the Bay.

Page is a veteran Broadway performer, winning a Theatre World Award for the 1976 all-black revival of Guys and Dolls and a Drama Desk Award for Ain’t Misbehavin’. Other Main Stem credits include The Wiz, It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, and Cats, in which he originated the role of Old Deuteronomy, which he is currently reprising in The Muny in St. Louis’ staging of the musical. Film credits include All Dogs Go To Heaven, Torch Song Trilogy and most recently, Dreamgirls. In 2008, Page released Page By Page, a two-disc album of his one-man-show recorded live at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts in California.
