Christopher Durang's Why Torture is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them (October 15-28) and Naomi Wallace's Things of Dry Hours (April 15-May 1) are just two plays seen recently off-Broadway that will be part of the Cleveland Public Theater's 2009-10 season.

The theater will begin the season with a local flavor, running Michael Sepsy's The Alice Seed in repertory (October 8-24) with Nilaja Sun's acclaimed No Child… , featuring local actress Nina Domingue.

Following these shows, the CPT will offer a locally created musical revue Browns Rules (November 19-December 12), about a football fanatic, and a production of David Sedaris's The Santaland Diaries (November 27 - December 12).

In the new year, the local company Theater Ninjas will be in residence at the theater presenting Lisa D'Amour's Anna Bella Eema (January 28 - February 13), seen at New York's HERE Arts Center several seasons ago.

Matthew Earnest's adaptation of Rebecca Sonit's Wanderlust: A History of Walking (May 6-29) and Open Mind Firmament: An Evening of W.B. Yeats,, a new play based on Yeats' poetry, plays and letters (May 13 - May 29) conclude the theater's season.
