Using the form of a "Passion play," the oratorio explores the life of the controversial French philosopher and mathematician Simone Weil, who starved herself to death at the age of 34 because she refused to eat more than her countrymen in Nazi-occupied France.
The show will also feature the London Voices and dancer Michael Schumacher; the creative team includes Martin Pakledinaz (costumes) and James F. Ingalls (lighting).
