Burke, Darbo, Jordan, et al. to Star in National Tour of Southern Baptist Sissies and Sordid Lives

Delta Burke, Patrika Darbo, and Leslie Jordan will star in a national tour of Del Shores’ comedies Southern Baptist Sissies and Sordid Lives following a run at L.A.’s Zephyr Theater, August 8-20. At the Zephyr, the shows will play in repertory with Jordan’s acclaimed solo show Like a Dog on a Linoleum.

The tour will begin at San Diego’s North Park Theatre, August 24-26, followed by engagements at Dallas’ Majestic Theatre (September 16-17), Palm Springs’ Annenberg Theatre (October 7-11), St Louis’ Orpheum Theatre (October 27-29), Nashville’s Polk Theatre (November 10-12), and Fort Lauderdale’s Parker Playhouse (November 17-19). Additional dates and cities will be announced later.

The show’s casts also include Dale Dickey, Debby Holloday, Sean Wiggins, Mary-Margaret Lewis, Ann Walker, Mitch Carter, Newell Alexander, Sarah Hunley, David Cowgill, Rosemary Alexander, Jason Dottey, Ted Detwiler, Joe Patrick Ward, Anthony Cherry, Emerson Collins, Rich Delia, T. Ashanti Mozelle, and David Oljavo.

Burke received two Emmy Award nominations for her role of Suzanne Sugarbaker in the television series Designing Women; she has starred on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Steel Magnolias. Jordan is an Emmy nominee this year for his recurring role of Beverley Leslie on NBC’s Will & Grace. Darbo is best known for her role of Nancy Wesley on NBC’s Days of Our Lives.
