Revivals of Annie Get Your Gun and Hair, and the world premiere of Stormy Weather, starring Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams as the great singer/actress Lena Horne, will be part of the Prince Music Theater’s 2006-2007 season.

The season will open with From Tha Hip (September 19-October 1), a Hip-Hop musical created and choreographed by Clyde Evans, featuring music by Subliminal Orphans and starring members of the Chosen Dance Company. Up next are two cabaret-style revues by KT Sullivan and Mark Nadler: Always: The Love Story of Irving Berlin (October 17-29) and A Swell Party: RSVP Cole Porter (November 1-5).

The following month brings a revival of the classic musical Annie Get Your Gun (December 2-31) featuring a score by Berlin and a book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields. It will be directed by Richard M. Parrison, Jr., who helmed the Prince’s extremely successful revival of Dreamgirls this past season.

In 2007, the Prince will feature two world premieres: Stormy Weather, which uses the songs Horne made famous during her lengthy career (February 10-March 4), and Tiny Dancer, an autobiographical musical by composer Paul Scott Goodman (Bright Lights, Big City) and Miriam Gordon (March 14-April 1). The season will conclude with the 40th anniversary revival of Hair (May 26-June 24), with music by Galt MacDermot and book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado.
