Vineyard Schedules Free Outdoor Concert of Songs from Avenue Q, Miracle Brothers, and People Are Wrong!

The Vineyard Theatre will present Summer in the Square, a free concert in Union Square Park, on Wednesday, July 13, beginning at 6pm.

Stephanie D’Abruzzo and Ann Harada of Avenue Q will headline the event with a performance of “The More You Ruv Someone” from that Tony Award-winning musical, the first Vineyard production to transfer to Broadway. David Driver will do a number from the Julia Greenberg-Robin Goldwasser show People Are Wrong!, which had its Off-Broadway premiere at the Vineyard in 2004. And Kerry Butler, Cheryl Freeman, Bobby Daye, and Todd Almond will offer a sneak peek at Kirsten Childs’ musical Miracle Brothers, set to begin previews at the Vineyard on August 25 in advance of a September 18 opening.

The hour-long concert is sponsored by Union Square Partnership and TheaterMania.com. The Vineyard Theatre was a founding member of The Heart of Off-Broadway Theater Committee, which works to showcase Union Square’s numerous award-winning theaters and market the neighborhood as a theater destination.
