Ron Bopst, Kyle Minshew, and Obie Award winner Meg MacCary will lead the cast of Odyssey Productions’ limited engagement of William Wycherley’s 1675 Restoration Comedy The Country Wife, to play the Chernuchin Theatre, July 9-18. Bradford Cover will direct.

The play centers on Harry Horner, who has a reputation as the “Lewdest fellow in town,” which means he isn’t allowed anywhere near London’s society women. So, he circulates a rumor that a disastrous case of VD has rendered him a eunuch. News of Horner’s misfortune spreads quickly and soon aristocratic husbands are lining up to employ him as their wives’ “innocent” chaperone.

The cast will also include Victor Barranca, Brent Bateman, Stanley Brode, Kate Bruestle, Matthew Cohn, Olivia Gilliatt, Allison Hirschlag, Allison Layman, Caitlin McMahon, and Adam Patterson.

The creative team will include Hwiwon Lee (costume design), George MacDonald (composer), Kate Mulley (dramaturge), and Shelly Rodriguez (lighting design).
