Gretha Boston and Vivian Reed to Headline 3 Mo’ Divas

Tony Award winner Gretha Boston and former Tony nominee Vivian Reed will star in 3 Mo’ Divas, a theatrically staged concert which will be choreographed and directed by Marion J. Caffey. The show will play three limited runs in the coming months: Washington D.C.’s Arena Stage (July 12-August 13), the Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo (September 1-October 1), and the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Canada (October 21-November 12). Bookings for a 2007 tour will be announced shortly.

First produced at San Diego Rep in 2004, 3 Mo’ Divas spans eight musical styles, including opera, jazz, blues, soul, gospel, and Broadway. The show, which will be double-cast, will also star N’Kenge, Jamet Pittman, Andrea Jones-Sojola, and Nina Negri.

The creative team includes Joseph Joubert (musical supervisor/orchestrator), e’Marcus Harper (musical director/arranger), Dale F. Jordan (set design), Toni Leslie James (costume design), Richard Winkler (lighting design), and Bettie Rogers (wig design).

Boston recieved the Tony Award for Show Boat and a Tony nomination for It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues. Her other stage credits include Cookin’ at the Cookery, South Pacific, and Let Me Sing. Reed is a two-time Tony nominee for Bubbling Brown Sugar and The High Rollers Social and Pleasure Club, and also starred on Broadway in Marie Christine. She is an original cast member of 3 Mo’ Divas.
