Tower Records to Start Cabaret Series, Host Dirty Rotten Scoundrels CD Signing

This week, Tower Records at Lincoln Center (Broadway and 66th Street) is starting a weekly cabaret showcase titled “Any Wednesday.” The series will kick off on June 22 at 6 pm with a performance by vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway, a Tony nominee for her performance in Swing and the winner of 14 MAC Awards.

On June 29, the series will continue with singer-actress Bobbie Eakes, who plays Krystal Carey on the ABC soap opera All My Children; she will sing selections from her debut CD, Something Beautiful. Future performers will be announced shortly.

Tower will also host a signing of the original cast album of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on Thursday, June 23 at 5pm. Stars Norbert Leo Butz (winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical), John Lithgow, Sherie Rene Scott, Joanna Gleason, Gregory Jbara, and Sara Gettelfinger will be on hand for the event along with the show’s composer-lyricist, David Yazbek.
