It has just been announced that the acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart will close after tonight’s performance due to the lack of strong ongoing ticket sales. The production will have played 13 previews and 63 regular performances.

The Worth Street Theater production of the show, which chronicles the earliest years of the AIDS epidemic in New York City, was directed by David Esbjornson. It stars Raúl Esparza, Lisa Kron, Richard Bekins, Fred Berman, McCaleb Burnett, Mark Dobies, Jay Russell, Billy Warlock, and Paul Whitthorne. Eugene Lee designed the set, Jess Goldstein the costumes, Ken Billington the lights, and Tony Meola the sound.
