Due to a forecast of rain, the previously reported BBQ Celebration in Shubert Alley, to kick off a partnership between the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis and The Great Atlantic Pacific & Tea Company (A&P) to raise money for New York-area Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, originally set for May 24, has been rescheduled for Friday, June 3 from 12pm to 2pm.

Cast members from the musical will perform, and A&P will be providing a Memphis-style BBQ lunch. Guests will be asked to make a small donation to the Children’s Miracle Network.

Memphis is based on a concept by George W. George and features a book by Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan. The production won four 2010 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Set in the segregated South of the 1950s, the show follows the fictionalized life story of white radio disc jockey Huey Calhoon, who falls in love with both rock & roll and an electrifying black singer, Felicia Farrell.
