Stage legend Angela Lansbury will receive an honorary Degree of Doctor of Musical Arts from the Manhattan School of Music at its commencement ceremony, to be held on May 14 at The Riverside Church. The School's President Robert Sirota will confer the degree.

Lansbury is currently starring in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music and has earned a Tony Award nomination for her work in the show. She's won Tony Awards for her performances in Sweeney Todd, Mame, Dear World, Gypsy, and, most recently, Blithe Spirit. She may be best known as Jessica Fletcher from television's Murder, She Wrote, for which she won four Golden Globe Awards.

Alan M. Ades and Anton Coppola will also receive honorary doctoral degrees at the commencement. In addition, Arkady Aronov and Orin O'Brien will receive the Presidential Medal for Distinguished Faculty Service.
