Easton, Emond, Goodwin, Lamos, Skybell, et al. Set for Shakespeare Society’s A Question of Genius

Actors Richard Easton, Linda Emond, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Steven Skybell, director Mark Lamos, and journalists Adam Gopnik and Ron Rosenbaum will participate in The Shakespeare Society’s program A Question of Genius, to be held at 6:30pm on Monday, June 5 at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (Park Avenue at 68th Street).

The actors will perform scenes from A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Hamlet, and King Lear. Easton won a Tony Award for The Invention of Love and is now finishing up his run in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Entertaining Mr. Sloane. Emond won an Obie Award for Homebody/Kabul. Goodwin stars in the HBO series Big Love and was seen in the Oscar-winning film Walk the Line. Skybell’s many stage credits include Love! Valour! Compassion!

Gopnik, who writes for The New Yorker, will explore Shakespeare’s use of multiple tones and voices. Rosenbaum, a contributor to The New York Observer, will address the concept of the Bard as a “natural genius.” Lamos, whose recent Broadway productions include Seascape and The Rivals, will discuss the topic “Shakespeare: A Man of the Theater.”
