David Rasche and Fred Willard to Star in Elvis and Juliet

David Rasche and Fred Willard will star in Mary Willard’s Elvis and Juliet at the June Havoc Theatre. Directed by Yvonne Coneybeare, the production will play June 2-July 2 and will open officialy on June 7.

The play concerns the wedding of college sweethearts Elvis and Juliet, with their families — one a conservative clan of Connecticut academics, the other a flamboyant clan of Las Vegas “tribute artists” — coming together for the first time at the ceremony. Mary Willard, the wife of Fred, is the author of such plays as An Occasional Sin and Actors Anonymous: The Twelve Step Program.

Also in the cast of Elvis and Juliet are Bridget Clark, Lori Gardner, Waren Kelley, Haskell King, Christy McIntosh, Carole Monferdini, Pamela Paul, and Justin Schultz. The creative team includes Ray Recht (set design), Ingrid Maurer (costume design), and David Castaneda (lighting design).

Among Rasche’s many New York stage credits are Edmond, Lovely Day, and Moonlight and Magnolias. The actor can be seen in the current film The Sentinel. Willard recently starred in the Los Angeles Theatre Works production of Romance. His many film and television credits include Best in Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Fernwood 2nite.
