Last Exit for Brooklyn: Show to Close on June 26

Brooklyn The Musical will play its final Broadway performance on Sunday, June 26 at the recently re-named Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (formerly The Plymouth). The show began previews on September 23, 2004 and opened officially on October 21 to mostly negative reviews.

Written by Barri McPherson and Mark Schoenfeld, Brooklyn tells the story of a young woman named Brooklyn (played by Eden Espinosa) who is searching for the father she never knew. The show’s original cast also included Kevin Anderson, Cleavant Derricks, Ramon Keller, and Karen Olivo.

The producers have announced a national tour of the musical beginning in 2006; the cast, dates, and cities of the tour will be announced shortly.
