Brian Stokes Mitchell, Rosie O’Donnell, Kelli O’Hara, Sierra Boggess, and Norm Lewis go worship Sherie Rene Scott; while Chris Cooper, Stanley Tucci, Scott Cohen, and the cast of The Sopranos support Michael and Victoria Imperioli.
On Monday night, Sherie Rene Scott blew the roof off of the Eugene O’Neill Theatre with a benefit performance of her extraordinary new solo piece You May Now Worship Me. Among her many admirers was Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell, president of the Actors’ Fund.
Rosie O’Donnell — just back from her celebrity-filled cruise — and wife Kelli led the standing ovation.
Kelli O’Hara took in the show on her night off from playing Nellie Forbush in Lincoln Center’s glorious revival of South Pacific.
Scott’s co-stars from The Little Mermaid, Derrick Baskin, Tyler Maynard — who joined her onstage for a hilarious segment — and Norm Lewis were also in the house.
Here’s the Mermaid herself, Sierra Boggess, with Tituss Burgess, who plays Sebastian the Crab.
The show’s creative team, musical director Tom Kitt, co-author Dick Scanlan, and director Michael Mayer, were all smiles at the show’s after-party at John’s Pizzeria.
The event raised $200,000 for the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative — and the charity’s namesake was extremely impressed with the show.
Down at the Rubin Museum of Art on Monday night, the stars came out for First Readings, a benefit for Studio Dante, the theater started by Victoria and Michael Imperioli.
Oscar winner Chris Cooper, currently on the big screen in Married Life, was one of the participants.
Here’s the very busy Stanley Tucci, who will be seen next year with Michael Imperioli in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel The Lovely Bones.
Many of Imperioli’s co-stars from The Sopranos were in attendance, including Drea deMatteo, who played his onscreen girlfriend, Adriana.
Here’s Aida Turturro, who played his Aunt Janice.
Vincent Pastore, who recently appeared with Turturro in Broadway’s Chicago, was another member of the Sopranos family on hand for the event.
Finally, here’s Sharon Angela, who played Rosalie on the acclaimed HBO series.
