Obie Award Winner Leonardo Cimino Has Died

Obie Award winner Leonardo Cimino died on March 3 at his home in Woodstock, New York at age 94, according to The New York Times.


Cimino studied acting, directing and modern dance at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater. His many stage credits include The Brothers Karamazov, for which he won the Obie, A Memory of Two Mondays/27 Wagons Full of Cotton, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination, and the The Man in the Glass Booth for which he received Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award.


His many other stage credits include They Knew What They Wanted, Arturo Ui, Night Life, The Wild Dukck, Diamond Orchid, Cyrano de Bergerac, A Passage to India, The Iceman Cometh, Vincent, and The Comedy of Errors.


His film and television credits include Dune, Moonstruck, Monsignor, V, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Naked City, Ryan’s Hope, and Kojak.


He is survived by his wife, Sharon Powers.
