The play centers on an idealistic teacher in a small Eastern Cape Karoo town in South Africa in 1984, who seeks to provide a future for his gifted student Thami by forming a debate team with Isabel, a spirited student from the local white school.

The cast will feature Allison Gallerani as Isabel, James A. Williams as Mr. M, and Stephen Tyrone Williams as Thami.

The creative team will include Neil Patel (scenic design), Karen Perry (costume design), Marcus Doshi (lighting design), and Robert Kaplowitz (sound design), as well as Bobby McFerrin, who will provide original music.
