Drama Desk Awards to Be Held May 17; Nominations to Be Announced April 27

The 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be held at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center, on Sunday, May 17, at 9 pm. Jeff Kalpak will direct the ceremony. Nominations will be announced Monday, April 27 at the New York Friars Club, at 9 am.

The Drama Desk is an organization of theater critics, writers, and editors that honors excellence in all areas of New York theatre, including Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway and not-for-profit theater.

The 2008/2009 nominating committee for the awards includes TheaterMania contributor Barbara Siegel (Chairperson) along with TheaterMania’s managing editor Dan Bacalzo, Christopher Byrne, Patrick Christiano, Jason Clark, Gerard Raymond, and Richard Ridge.
