Colby Chambers, Luke Kirby, David Lansbury, Michael O’Keefe, and David Rasche will star in the Irish Repertory Theatre’s free staged reading of Stuart Carolan’s Defender of the Faith at 3pm on Friday, March 24. This will be the second in a series of monthly readings put on by the theater.

Carolan’s play is a story of tragic loyalty, mistrust, betrayal, and violence among men in a Republican family on a South Armagh farm in 1986. Defender of the Faith was previously produced at the Peacock Theatre in Dublin in 2004.

Chambers recently appeared in Dog Sees God. Kirby starred in Jump/Cut. Among Lansbury’s many stage credits are Comedians and Hedda Gabler. O’Keefe starred on Broadway in Reckless and is best known for his work on the TV series Roseanne. Rasche’s recent stage credits include Lovely Day and Moonlight and Magnolias.

Reservations for the reading are required; phone 212-727-2737.
