JSP to Release Double-LP Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall on CD in 2012

JSP Records has announced that it will issue a double-CD of the original double LP recording of Judy at Carnegie Hall in early 2012.

The release will include all of the music heard at the event and preserve the LP’s running order of the legendary performer’s April 23, 1961 appearance at the venue, while simultaneously retaining certain technological enhancements which were made for the original LPs. When Judy at Carnegie Hall was released on vinyl, the multi-Grammy award-winning album remained on the charts for 95 weeks and spent 13 of them in the number 1 position.

In related news, JSP has announced that it will also release a 4-CD box set, Judy Garland – Smilin’ Through: The Singles Collection 1936-1947 in 2011. These discs will include singles of Garland’s known master takes, alternates and outtakes at Decca Records.

Both sets will be produced by John Stedman, head of JSP Records, remastered by Peter Rynston, of Tall Order Remastering, and annotated by Lawrence Schulman. Andrew Aitken will sign the artwork.
