Joel Grey / A New York Life Exhibit to Open at the Museum of the City of New York in April

Tony Award winner Joel Grey’s career and his life in New York will be showcased in the new exhibit Joel Grey / A New York Life, to be on view at the Museum of the City of New York April 12 – August 8.

The exhibition will include photographs, posters, playbills, and costumes from several of Grey’s productions, including the iconic Emcee costume from Cabaret, a crown worn in Goodtime Charley, and an original costume sketch for George M! In addition, original caricatures of Grey by Al Hirschfeld will also be on view as will selections from Grey’s extensive work as a photographer of New York.

Grey, as previously announced, will be co-starring with Sutton Foster this spring in Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Anything Goes. In addition, he will be directing the Broadway revival of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart. The actor won a Tony Award for his performance in Cabaret, and also won the Academy Award for the film version of the musical. Among his many other Broadway credits are Wicked, Chicago, and The Grand Tour.
