Peter DuBois, Sam Gold to Direct Readings for Public’s Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series

The Public Theater has announced the initial schedule for the Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series, which will begin with a special performance of Evening of Excerpts on February 25. At this performance, selections from works by the nine playwrights participating in the program will be performed. The series will continue with readings of the writers’ full scripts on successive Mondays March 1 – April 26 at 7pm.

In March, the theater will present Alena Smith’s Plucker (March 1), directed by Sam Gold; J. Julian Christopher’s Man Boobs (March 8); Bridget Kelso’s Hiding in the Garden (March 15); and Kevin Christopher Snipes’ Ashes, Ashes, directed by Peter DuBois.

The schedule for the balance of the readings — plays by Deen, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Mona Mansour, Vickie Ramirez, and Jordan Seavey — will be announced at a later date.
