Broadway veteran David Canary has announced his retirement from the ABC daytime drama All My Children, on which he has played the roles of twin brothers Adam and Stuart Chandler since 1983. The actor’s final scenes will air in April, although he will possibly return to the show for future guest spots.

Canary has won five Daytime Emmy Awards for his work, and received 11 additional nominations. Prior to joining All My Children, he was best known for the role of Candy Canaday on Bonanza.

Canary appeared on Broadway in Clothes for a Summer Hotel, Great Day in the Morning, and The Happiest Girl in the World.
