A new adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s Widowers’ Houses set in 1992 Harlem and the world premiere of Zak Berkman’s Beauty of the Vine will be presented this spring by the Epic Theatre Center.

Widowers’ Houses, adapted by Ron Russell and Godfrey L. Simmons Jr. and directed by Russell, will run March 5-April 8 at the Kirk Theatre at Theatre Row.
The show will star Peter Jay Fernandez, James Wallert, Rachel Holmes, Jessica Richardson, Jacob Ming-Trent, and Simmons.

Next up, the company will produce Week 20 of Suzan Lori-Parks’ 365 Days/365 Plays, to be seen March 28-31 at the Kirk and April 1 at the Public Theater. Leigh Silverman, known for her work on such plays as Well, Blue Door, and Oedipus at Palm Springs, will helm these performances. The cast, which will include both professional actors and students, will be announced at a later date.

The season will conclude with Berkman’s Beauty on the Vine, to be directed by David Schweizer, April 23-May 27 at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row. The play is a romantic comedy about a man named “Sweet” who falls in love with a female, right-wing radio show host. The cast will include Helen Piper Coxe, Barbara Garrick, Howard Overshown, and Richardson.
